Gildra the Hoarder

Gildra the Hoarder, a golden-skinned elf with long white hair and gold hoop earrings, grinning in a treasure vault of gold coins and chests beside a floating purple crystal orb

Characters

Gildra the Hoarder

Greed Guard

Gildra the Hoarder is the greed guard of the gold lair.

Step into her vault and the first thing you notice is the grin. Gildra stands barefoot on a floor of spilled coins, hands on her hips, surrounded by overflowing chests and towers of gold that catch every beam of light. She looks delighted. She looks like she has everything. That is exactly the trap.

About Gildra

Gruff hoarder with conflicted greed and hidden loneliness. Like a misunderstood collector who hoards to fill an emotional void, Gildra was corrupted by Vorath’s gold. She hoards resources and traps heroes in gold illusions because she believes having more will finally make her feel whole. Deep down, she is deeply lonely and can be redeemed through learning the joy of sharing.

In her gold lair

Gildra has golden skin, a cascade of long white hair, and tall pointed ears ringed with gold hoops. A thin circlet set with a blue gem rests on her brow. She wears a deep navy cape over a navy and bronze outfit, with heavy bronze cuffs on her wrists and ankles. A violet crystal orb floats at her shoulder, glowing softly among the coins, one more treasure she keeps close and does not share.

All of it, hers. Or so she thinks.

Abilities

Hoard Trap. Gildra traps heroes with illusions of gold. She can create powerful illusions of wealth that tempt and trap heroes, draining their willingness to share and cooperate.

Where she fits

In the Chronicles, the Veil shows itself through different domains. Gildra and Vorath stand together in the domain of Greed and Scarcity, the feeling that there is never enough. Her arc points the other way: true joy comes from sharing rather than hoarding, and Sylva's joy and Villara's guidance are part of how that light can reach her.

Greed is loneliness, hoarded

Gildra was corrupted by Vorath's gold. She hoards resources and traps heroes in golden illusions because she believes having more will finally make her feel whole. Her page names the truth underneath: deep loneliness. Villara's page lists Gildra among the redemption arcs she helps guide. Gildra's story is a gentle way to talk with children about wanting more and more things. Often the empty feeling is really a wish for connection. The Virtue Wheel answers with Forgiveness over Greed, and her page offers a simple practice: share joy by giving freely today.
