Shopkeeper / Ally, Abandoned Mines Dusty Old Mine Shop (Gnome)
A gruff but kind-hearted old gnome miner with a heart of gold and a stubborn streak.
He was the last miner to leave when the Abandoned Mines were closed decades ago.
He stayed behind to guard a powerful ancient wind ability book that he believes “chooses its true owner.”
Over the years he’s become a bit eccentric, talking to his tools and the crystals, but he has a soft spot for young heroes who show courage and respect for the mountain’s secrets. He is a lonely but warm soul who has been waiting for the right person to pass on the ancient knowledge he protects.
Short, stocky gnome with a long gray beard braided with glowing purple, blue, and teal crystal shards, bushy eyebrows, and warm hazel eyes full of mischief. He wears a dented metal miner’s helmet with a bright glowing crystal lantern on top, a dusty brown vest, patched leather apron, and heavy boots. He carries a pickaxe slung over his shoulder and is often seen holding the glowing “Winds of the Ley” book. He radiates the quiet wisdom of someone who has spent decades listening to the mountain.
Runs the dusty old mine shop inside the Abandoned Mines. He greets the heroes when they discover the shop, shares a bit of lore about the ancient crystals and ley lines, and gives Kael the Ancient Wind Ability Book after a short, heartfelt conversation. He serves as a friendly NPC who makes the abandoned mines feel less lonely. His moment with Kael is a small but meaningful turning point that ties into the wind crystal arc.
Crystal Whisper
Can briefly make hidden crystals glow and reveal secret paths or weak points in the mine (gives a small perception or mining buff). Listens to the mountain’s secrets. He has spent so long in the mines that the crystals almost speak to him.
His old bones and years alone in the mine make him physically frail, he cannot fight or leave the shop area. He gets lonely easily and lights up when someone actually listens to his stories. His greatest strength is his patience and wisdom, but his isolation has left him vulnerable to loneliness.
