In astrology, your birth chart is a map of the sky at the exact moment and place you were born. 3rd house, communication: thinking, speaking, learning, siblings, neighbors, short trips.
4th house, home: family, roots, ancestry, emotional foundation.
5th house, joy: creativity, play, romance, children, self-expression.
6th house, service: daily routines, health habits, work, pets.
7th house, partnership: marriage, close relationships, contracts, open rivals.
8th house, transformation: intimacy, shared resources, death and rebirth, the occult.
9th house, expansion: higher learning, travel, philosophy, faith, publishing.

The angular houses

The 1st, 4th, 7th and 10th houses begin at the four main points of the chart: the ascendant, the IC (lowest point), the descendant and the midheaven. Planets here are said to be especially strong.

Gather your birth date, exact birth time and birth place.

Note which sign is on each house cusp, and which planets sit in each house.
Start with your sun's house, which shows where you shine.
