Infused Lights teaching diagram: Seasonal Soul Check In
An original Infused Lights teaching diagram.

Busy weeks can blur together until a season has changed around you without your inner life receiving an update. A seasonal check-in is not a demand to reinvent yourself. It is a pause to notice what is ending, what is beginning, and what needs a different kind of care now. Use the calendar as a gentle prompt, not as proof that you should already feel transformed.

Look back without auditing yourself

Choose a few recent weeks and ask what gave energy, what used energy, and what remained unfinished. Do not turn the answers into a performance review. Patterns are invitations to adjust, not evidence that you failed to optimize.

Name one moment you want to remember and one moment you want to meet differently. Keeping both prevents reflection from becoming either self-congratulation or self-criticism.

Notice the season in the body and room

Light, temperature, clothing, food, movement, and social rhythm all shape attention. What physical change would make this season more welcoming? Perhaps it is a lamp, a clearer entryway, a warmer breakfast, or an earlier pause.

Let the environment carry some of the work. A visible basket, a prepared meal, a recurring walk, or a small object near the door can support a value without requiring constant motivation.

Choose one thing to release

Ask what you are continuing because it matters and what you are continuing because you have not revisited it. A commitment may need to end, shrink, move, or become more honest. Let release be specific rather than dramatic.

When you make space, decide what belongs there. Rest, play, friendship, learning, or quiet may need a practical appointment. Empty space becomes supportive when it has permission to remain empty as well.

Set a season-sized intention

Choose a quality that can guide many decisions: steadiness, curiosity, repair, warmth, or courage. Write one visible behavior that expresses it. A season-sized intention should be roomy enough for hard days and clear enough to recognize.

Return to the intention every few weeks and revise without shame. A living practice changes as information arrives. The point is relationship with the season, not perfect adherence to a theme.

Let the practice be yours

A seasonal check-in is a way of remembering that you are allowed to change your rhythm. You can honor what worked without carrying it forever.

A small practice to take with you

  1. Name one source of energy and one source of strain from recent weeks.
  2. Make one small environmental adjustment.
  3. Release, reduce, or renegotiate one stale commitment.
  4. Choose a quality and one behavior to carry forward.

Keep it human

Let the next season meet the person you are now, not the person you thought you would become. Gentle revision is a form of respect.

Reflection is not a demand to become seasonally perfect. Let one adjustment meet the week you actually have.

A check-in can be brief and still be meaningful. You are not required to solve the whole season in one sitting. One honest adjustment, repeated gently, may create more change than a long list of intentions that leaves no room for real life.

Use a short review to notice capacity, values, and the next season of care

A seasonal check-in is not a productivity audit. It is a pause to ask what this stretch of life has required and what it has taught you. Name the season plainly: crowded, tender, transitional, joyful, uncertain, or mixed. Accurate language lowers the pressure to tell a prettier story.

Review four areas: body, relationships, work, and inner life. Where did you feel more alive? Where did you keep overriding a signal? Which commitments are truly yours, and which were inherited from an old version of you? Let the answers be observations before they become plans.

Release one obligation, story, or habit that no longer fits. Release does not have to mean dramatic departure. It can be a smaller promise, a conversation, a calendar boundary, or an agreement to revisit something later. Capacity is part of spiritual discernment.

Choose a modest blessing for the weeks ahead: more sleep, a protected hour, honest company, creative play, or a return to a simple practice. A season can be meaningful without being maximized. Let your next chapter have enough air to become visible.

A small practice loop

  1. Arrive: Take three breaths and feel yourself land where you are.
  2. Review: At day’s end, notice what helped and what did not.
  3. Release: Let go of one thing that is not yours to carry today.
  4. Choose: Pick one small, kind next step you can finish today.
  5. Bless: Offer one quiet blessing to yourself or someone else.

A grounded way to practice a seasonal check-in

A seasonal check-in is a pause for context, not a demand to reinvent yourself. Review what has changed, notice what your capacity needs now, and adjust one rhythm so the next weeks are more livable.

Three gentle checks

  1. Pause: What is true right now in my body, my home and my relationships?
  2. Review: What gave me energy lately, and what used it up?
  3. Adjust: What one small change would make the next few weeks kinder?
