Crystal Visions Rock Shop has been part of Ocean Beach in San Diego since 2006. Today it is guided by owner Philip Berry, a Reiki Master Teacher, intuitive practitioner, author and spiritual transition coach, and it has grown into much more than a crystal shop.
More than a crystal shop
People come to Crystal Visions for crystals and spiritual tools, and also for Reiki, guidance, classes, sound healing instruments, conversation and support during major life transitions and spiritual awakenings. Philip took ownership after already spending years working in and around the space, and he has kept it feeling personal and welcoming rather than transactional.
Every crystal in the shop is blessed with Reiki, and the space is gridded and regularly cleansed. Philip spends a lot of time talking with visitors about what they are actually moving through, and he helps people choose tools that support their own inner work.
Inside the shop
- Crystals and gemstones. Tumbled stones, towers and large geodes, hand picked from across the world through vendors who source ethically.
- Singing bowls. Hand finished quartz crystal singing bowls, carried for over 15 years, along with handmade Nepali singing bowls.
- Jewelry, books and decks. Fine jewelry, crystal bracelets and pendants, books on spirituality, tarot decks and oracle cards.
- Reiki classes and readings. Reiki classes in San Diego, along with readings and personal guidance.
Where the structural meets the spiritual
Philip's path was a little unusual. He studied Mechanical Engineering and worked as a mechanic for many years, while being drawn deeply into yoga, Reiki, astrology, Human Design, meditation, energy work and esoteric studies. That systems based way of seeing, learning to understand what is happening beneath the surface, now shapes how he works with energy and personal transformation.
“Bridging the mystical and the practical so transformation can be lived, not merely understood.”
Philip Berry, SoulBumps
A big part of his work is helping people stay grounded while exploring spirituality, especially people who are sensitive, intuitive or moving through periods of major change. As a Reiki Master Teacher he also passes the practice on through classes at the shop.
The Field Beneath the Tools
Philip is finishing his first book, The Field Beneath the Tools. It grew out of many years of spiritual practice and explores the idea that spiritual tools can be powerful doorways, while the deeper transformation comes from the awareness, intention and relationship we develop beneath the tools themselves.
Through SoulBumps, Philip is expanding his coaching and teaching beyond the shop, helping people understand their sensitivity, intuition, patterns, energy and life transitions in a grounded way. Learn more at soulbumps.com.
