Respect for what the earth gives
Gage digs, hauls, and sells the metal and stone that keep the resistance supplied. He cares that tools are sharp, ore is honest, and buyers do not waste what the earth gave them. His gruff honesty carries a quiet reverence for the land. That teaching lands well for families today. Respecting materials, from paper to food to stones, is a way of respecting the world that provides them. Choose one thing you might normally waste this week, and find a way to use it fully, the way Gage would want.
