Joren
Characters
Joren
Joren is part of The Starseed Chronicles cast.
Personality
Restless, angry, and protective. Joren still carries the wound of his father’s disappearance into the Slave Pits. He is loyal to his mother Nessa and deeply attached to Tamsin. The constant pressure of the tax system and the presence of Kragor’s enforcers is pushing him toward open resistance. He is one bad decision away from drawing the full attention of the village’s controllers.
Anger that wants a better path
Joren carries the wound of his father's disappearance into the Slave Pits. He is loyal to his mother Nessa, deeply attached to Tamsin, and the tax system and Kragor's enforcers are pushing him toward open resistance. Nessa fears his restlessness will get him taken next, and Tamsin fears what he might do if pushed too far. Joren's page honors a real feeling: anger at injustice. That anger can protect, and it can also lead to rash choices. His story invites a question for teens and adults alike: how can I turn this fire into wise action?
