Rook

Characters
Rook is the Game Row Keeper of probability and card games.
He is sharp, calculating, and charming, with a slightly shady reputation.
Rook is human, with a minor fey bloodline. He is a sharp featured, handsome man with dark wavy hair, intense eyes, and prominent pointed elf ears. He has a confident, slightly smug expression and carries himself with smooth, calculated charm. He wears a dark patterned long coat with a high collar over a detailed vest and cravat, a stylish but slightly dangerous gambler’s look, and he often has a deck of cards in hand.
He runs card games, dice games, and probability challenges on Game Row. He is smooth talking and loves to read people. He plays fair most of the time, but he is not above bending the rules if he thinks he can get away with it. Many visitors find him charming but untrustworthy. He enjoys the thrill of the game more than the money.

Rook is a reminder to know the odds, and the dealer, before you play.

Rook is the main card and probability game keeper on Game Row, and he draws crowds with his charisma and skill. Some players try to outsmart him, while others just enjoy watching him work. He is hard to beat, but fair enough that people keep coming back.

His gift is Calculated Risk. He can read opponents and subtly shift the odds in his favor, and he can create minor illusions or misdirection with his cards to confuse or distract. His power lives entirely in games and manipulation, so in direct combat he has very little ability, and highly perceptive or magically resistant people can see straight through his tricks.
