If you have ever started a cleanse with great intentions and found yourself tired, foggy, bloated, or irritable a few days later, you are not alone. It is one of the most common stories people share when they talk about parasite cleanses. They read about a powerful herb, order it, take it on day one, and then wonder why they feel worse instead of lighter.
At Infused Lights we believe the body deserves a kinder approach. The routine we share in our free ebook follows one simple principle: open the exits before you ask anything to leave. In this article we will walk through why that order matters, what the body's drainage pathways are, and the simple daily habits that are traditionally used to support them.
This article is educational and is not medical advice. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition. Please consult a qualified healthcare professional before beginning any cleanse, especially if you are pregnant, nursing, taking medications, or have gallstones, ulcers, a seizure disorder, or any existing condition. Stop and seek medical care for severe symptoms such as high fever, intense pain, or being unable to go about your day.
The problem with starting at the end
Imagine cleaning out a cluttered house. You would not pile every bag of rubbish in the hallway before you opened the front door. Yet that is what many cleanse plans do. Traditions describe beginning gently instead, with the body's everyday rhythms.
Cleanse traditions describe preparing the body's natural pathways first. That is often when people report what they call detox reactions: fatigue, brain fog, headaches, skin changes, or a general sense of heaviness.
A sequential approach does not promise a perfect experience. Every body responds differently. What it offers is a more thoughtful rhythm, so each step has a clear place to go.

Meet your four drainage pathways
When people talk about drainage in a holistic setting, they are usually describing four main systems. You do not need to become an expert in any of them. A simple picture is enough to understand why they come first.
1. The colon: the final exit
The colon is where much of what the body releases eventually leaves. In the InfusedLights Parasite Protocol, the first goal is steady regularity: 2 to 3 easy bowel movements daily, ideally Type 3 to 4 on the Bristol Stool Scale. If movements feel infrequent or difficult, that is worth mentioning to your healthcare professional. That is why so much of the first phase is about gentle motility, hydration, and minerals.
2. The liver and bile
The liver packages many substances into bile, which then travels into the digestive tract. When bile flow is sluggish, that process may slow down. In our routine, castor oil packs over the liver area and TUDCA in week 2 are used to support bile flow. Both are included in the schedule with exact timing in the ebook.
3. The kidneys
The kidneys rely on hydration. Filtered water throughout the day, plus a morning glass of warm water with a pinch of sea salt and lemon, is one of the simplest ways people support this pathway in a cleanse routine.
4. The lymphatic system
Lymph does not have a pump of its own the way blood has the heart. It relies on movement, breath, and muscle activity. That is why dry brushing toward the heart and gentle daily walks are part of the very first phase.
The simple habits of a drainage phase
The beautiful thing about drainage is how ordinary it looks. There is nothing dramatic here. These are small daily rituals that build a foundation. In the InfusedLights Parasite Protocol, Phase 1 runs for Days 1 to 14 and includes:
- Morning salt and lemon water. 16 oz of warm water with a pinch of sea salt and fresh lemon, a gentle way to begin the day hydrated.
- Dry brushing. About 5 minutes with a natural bristle brush, using light strokes toward the heart. Many people find this a lovely grounding ritual.
- Gentle walking. 20 to 30 minutes, paired with steady hydration.
- Castor oil packs. Over the liver area a few evenings each week, with gentle heat while you rest.
- Magnesium at bedtime. Traditionally used to support bowel regularity.
- TUDCA in week 2. Used with meals to support bile flow.
The full schedule, with every amount and time of day, is laid out in a clear table in the ebook, along with a printable checklist so you can tick each step off as you go.

The clearest signal in this routine is your stool. It may not be the most glamorous topic, but it is honest feedback from your body. The Bristol Stool Scale describes seven types, from separate hard lumps (Type 1) to fully watery (Type 7). Types 3 and 4, smooth and soft, are the goal.
A few other gentle signs people often notice in a drainage phase:
- Waking with a little more ease
- Less bloating after meals
- A lighter feeling in the body
- More consistent energy through the afternoon
If you reach Day 14 and you are still not having comfortable, regular movements, that is useful information. Many people choose to stay in the drainage phase a little longer and check in with their healthcare professional before moving forward. There is no prize for rushing.
Why the sequence continues after drainage
Drainage is the first of four phases in our routine. Once the exits are moving, the sequence continues:
- Drainage (Days 1 to 14): open the exits.
- Biofilm (Days 15 to 35): address the protective mucus and mineral matrix, using enzymes on an empty stomach and binders a couple of hours later.
- Herbal sweep (Days 36 to 65): introduce traditionally used herbs, building up, peaking for five days, then tapering.
- Binding (Days 66 to 79): rotate binders, a closing step traditions describe for the end of a cleanse.
Each phase builds on the one before it. Traditions describe this gentle order as the kindest way through. Following the order, gently and consistently, is the heart of the whole protocol.
Making drainage a ritual, not a chore
We love turning these habits into moments of care. A few ideas from our community:
- Prepare your lemon water the night before and leave a glass and a lemon on the counter as a visual reminder.
- Keep your dry brush by the shower and pair it with a few slow breaths.
- Make your castor oil pack evening a sacred pause: dim lights, soft music, a candle, and a journal.
- Walk outside when you can and let it double as a moving meditation.
- Write one line each night about how your body feels. Patterns appear quickly.
A note on listening to your body
Every body is different. Some people move through drainage with ease. Others need more time. If something does not feel right, slow down, drink more water, and speak with a qualified professional. If you ever experience severe symptoms such as high fever, intense pain, or an inability to function, stop and seek medical care right away.
The aim is not to push. The aim is to create the conditions for your body to do what it already knows how to do.
Frequently asked questions
Can I skip drainage and start with herbs?
Our routine is built on sequence, so we do not recommend it. Drainage is the foundation the rest of the protocol relies on.
How long does the drainage phase last?
In the InfusedLights Parasite Protocol it runs from Day 1 to Day 14. Some people choose to extend it until regularity feels steady.
Do I need special equipment?
Very little: a natural bristle dry brush, castor oil, a cloth, a heat pack, sea salt, and lemons. The ebook includes a complete shopping list.
