Living with open questions
Some questions cannot be answered quickly. Chasing them, searching endlessly, asking everyone, and thinking in circles, can bring frustration.
Hold the question lightly instead. Write it down, revisit it occasionally, and notice what life reveals over time.
Answers often arrive when we stop forcing them. Holding a question patiently allows insight to emerge naturally, through experience and reflection.
Set the question down gently
You keep searching for answers to a big life question, reading articles, asking friends, lying awake thinking. The more you chase, the more confused you feel.
Write the question on a card and place it somewhere you will see it occasionally, such as a bookshelf or mirror. Agree with yourself to stop actively searching for two weeks. When the question arises, simply notice it and let it rest.
After two weeks, reflect on whether any insights appeared on their own. Answers often arrive through living rather than chasing, and holding a question gently can bring surprising clarity.
When you are ready for more than reading, the Inner Evolution series on Gaia is a gentle, optional next door. Take what helps and leave the rest.
