Questions that linger

Some questions keep returning: Should I change careers? Is this relationship right? What is my purpose? Recurring questions often signal something important.

Instead of pushing the question away, give it attention. Write about it, discuss it with someone you trust, and gather information.

Recurring questions may not have quick answers. Living with them thoughtfully can guide you toward insight and change over time.

Give the question a notebook

"Should I move closer to family?" "Is this career right for me?" Some questions return again and again, interrupting sleep and conversations, never quite resolved.

Give a recurring question its own notebook or document. Each time it arises, write down any new thoughts, information, or feelings, along with the date. Once a month, read through your entries.

Over time, notice patterns and shifts. Recurring questions often point to something important, and giving them a place can turn endless circling into gradual clarity.

When it comes, receive it. When it goes, remain useful.
“When it comes, receive it. When it goes, remain useful.”
