Plans that can change
A plan is a best guess made with the information you had at the time. When new information arrives, revising the plan is a sign of wisdom, not failure.
Build regular review points into important plans. Ask what is working, what is not, and what has changed.
Holding plans loosely allows you to move forward with confidence while staying responsive. There is grace in being able to change course without shame.
Schedule a monthly plan check
You made a plan in January for the whole year. By spring, circumstances have changed, but you keep trying to follow the old plan, feeling more and more behind.
Set a monthly reminder to review one important plan. Ask three questions: What is working? What is not? What has changed? Make one revision based on your answers.
Over a few months, notice how the plan evolves. Regular revision keeps plans relevant and helps you move forward with confidence, without the shame of falling short of outdated goals.
