Decisions that can wait
Not every decision needs to be made immediately. When a decision is not urgent, giving yourself permission to wait can bring relief.
Set a date to revisit the decision and gather information in the meantime. Allow your thoughts and feelings to settle.
Waiting thoughtfully is different from avoiding. It gives space for a wiser choice and reduces the pressure of rushing.
Set a decision date
A friend asks if you want to go on a trip next year. You feel pressure to decide immediately, even though you need to check your budget and schedule.
Next time you face a non urgent decision, say, "Let me think about it and get back to you by Friday." Mark the date on your calendar and gather the information you need in the meantime.
Notice the relief of having time. A decision date gives structure without rushing, and often leads to a clearer, more confident choice.
