Candy Reeder opens her website with a line from The Secret Garden: “The magic is in me. It’s in every one of us.” That idea runs through everything she shares at Joyfully Blooming, her Champaign, Illinois home for energy work, readings, sound and garden grown goods.
Meet Candy
Candy calls herself a green witch, energy healer, holistic health enthusiast and lover of plants. She is a momma of six and a music and holistic wellness educator serving the Champaign-Urbana schools and community. She writes openly that learning to embrace and love every part of herself has not been easy, “but it has been oh so liberating and empowering!” Joyfully Blooming grew from that journey, with a simple purpose: offering tools and guidance that help people dive deep into themselves, find their magic and love themselves whole.
A garden at the heart of it
The Secret Garden is more than a favorite quote. Candy and her kids read it together around the time they started gardening, and it sparked her own question: what do I really want out of life? Since then the family has learned about local plant life, attracting pollinators and ethical foraging. Her apothecary holds handmade goods made from plants she grew or foraged in Central Illinois, like balms, fire cider, herbal mullein torches and cedar incense bundles, alongside inspirational cards, printable self care workbooks and botanical zodiac art on tree free prairie paper. In 2025 The Daily Illini profiled her booth at the Market at the Square in Urbana, where people often find the zodiac perfume roller made for their own sign.
Readings, Reiki and sound
Candy offers Reiki energy healing in person in Champaign or over Zoom. Her site calls it “like a big warm hug for your soul,” and each session includes a mini tarot reading and a chakra art download. She also offers tarot, Akashic Record and astrology chart readings, plus guided Story Shift meditation journeys.
She loves to teach, too. Her Embody Your Magic Reiki Level 1 certification is on Sunday, October 25, 2026, with Reiki Level 2 on Sunday, January 3, 2027, both in person with an option to join virtually. Her group experience The Rested Mind blends breathwork, gentle movement, visualization and a sound bath, with dates at Prairie Fruits Farm and Creamery on October 17 and Cloud Mountain Kombucha in Urbana on October 28.
How Joyfully Blooming helps the world
Candy helps the world by helping people slow down. She describes her work as creating “welcoming, engaging experiences that help participants slow down, regulate stress, reconnect with themselves, and return to their lives with greater balance and resilience.” She brings those circles to teams, leaders and communities, from lunch hour resets to teacher and staff appreciation days.
She also has a gift for helping people feel seen. Talking with The Daily Illini about her market customers, she said:
