Village & Vessel is a metaphysical shop in Oak Park, Illinois, in the Scoville Square Building at 135 N Oak Park Ave. In its own words, it is a place where “you’re invited to explore your spirituality and divinity that nature provides us,” with tools and gentle guidance for anyone looking to ignite their relationship with the cosmos.
Born in a garage in Oak Park
Before COVID, owner Sarah’s energetic outlet was comedy. She performed, taught and produced at Second City, iO Chicago and ComedySportz for 16 years, while also spending 10 years in tech. She studied interior design at Parsons and loved using energy work on stage, in business and in interior styling.
When COVID hit and life felt too short, Sarah ended her tech career and set out to find beautiful crystals, build lasting relationships with mining families and set up shop in her garage. With peace and evolution guiding the process, Village & Vessel eventually found its home on Oak Park Ave.

What you will find at Village & Vessel
The shop is known for its curated crystals and minerals, alongside chakra and ritual candles and books on astrology, folk magic and the spiritual path. It aims to be a vibrant, giving member of the Oak Park community through high quality metaphysical goods and thoughtful events.
Sarah offers intuitive tarot readings of about 50 minutes, either in the shop among the crystals or over Zoom, and group tarot parties at the shop or at your place. For those who want to learn, the Tarot Cohort brings 14 people together for 8 weeks of in person classes, reading for one another as they go.
Village & Vessel also offers Home Healing, an energetic cleansing and spiritual balancing of a space using saining (Celtic smoke cleansing), crystals, sound and other ritual practices, so a home can be aligned with the intentions of the people living there now.
