Rhaelys

Characters
Rhaelys is the Keeper of the Light Circle, the Dance Hall at the heart of the Woodland Marketplace.
She believes that shared joy is one of the purest forms of light.
Rhaelys is a graceful elf woman in her late twenties, with warm golden brown skin, long wavy auburn hair often half tied or crowned with living vines and small glowing lantern beads, and soft glowing amber eyes. She wears flowing layered dresses in deep forest green, soft gold, and warm cream that move beautifully when she dances, and she is barefoot most of the time. A delicate band of living light runes circles one wrist, the mark of the Dance Hall’s keeper.
She is warm, magnetic, and quietly fierce, and people naturally gather around her. She does not fight with a bow or blade. She fights by refusing to let the light go out.

Joy is not the opposite of seriousness. Joy is resistance.Infused Lights
Her story teaches that keeping the light alive is sometimes as simple, and as hard, as refusing to stop dancing.
Try this today: Do one joyful thing today on purpose, especially if the day feels heavy.
Rhaelys was born in the Woodland Community Tree Village and has never stayed away for long. When the Dark Hollow deepened and the presence of Draxen grew stronger, many wanted to quiet the music out of fear. Rhaelys refused. She kept the Dance Hall open night after night, saying that if they stop dancing, the shadow has already won.

She is the emotional center of the Woodland Marketplace, and villagers come to her for renewal, courage, and a reminder of why the light is worth fighting for. When she dances or leads others in the Circle, the floor runes brighten and release a soft wave of pure light that strengthens everyone’s inner light, reduces shadow corruption, and pushes back the thin shadow mist rising from the Hollow below. She carries the emotional weight of the community: if too many people stop coming to the Circle out of fear, her own light begins to dim.
Draxen can hear her music from his Shadow Perch. The sound of the Circle is one of the things that enrages him most, because some buried part of him still wants what she protects. Every time the Circle glows, it wounds him. She knows this, and she keeps dancing anyway. Her light works especially well alongside Aria, Lumara, and Liora.
