Characters

Solace

Solace is the Last Sentinel of the Rising Spire in the Hollow Court.

She stayed when the Court fell, and she keeps rebuilding.

About Solace

Solace is a high elf of the Court bloodline, partly faded by the Veil. She is tall and elegant, with long, soft wavy silver white hair, often with a simple silver leaf or crystal hairpiece, and large luminous pale teal eyes with a calm, far seeing quality. She wears layered, ornate robes in soft silver, muted teal, and faded gold, with glowing cyan runes and crystal accents along the seams, collar, and sleeves. She carries a slender staff of pale carved wood topped with a large glowing cyan crystal.

She is quiet, patient, and deeply observant, and she measures every word. She is not cold. She has simply spent a very long time alone with her purpose. She is slow to trust outsiders, but once she decides someone is genuine, she becomes a calm and reliable ally, with a dry, understated humor that appears only after trust is earned.

Some things are still worth reaching for.Infused Lights

Solace believes that as long as the Spire still reaches upward, the Court has not fully fallen.

The Rising Spire

Solace was once one of the High Sentinels of the Rising Spire, a lookout and counsel keeper during the height of the Hollow Court. When the Veil rose and the Court fractured, most of the nobility fled, fell, or accepted the terms of Zor. Solace stayed. For years she has lived within the Spire’s cracked walls, slowly restoring it stone by stone and light by light. She does not speak of how long she has been alone. She simply continues the work.

Heroes who climb the Spire will eventually meet her. She watches how they treat the Spire and how they speak of restoration before deciding how much to reveal, and she can grant access to the upper levels, share strategic views of the whole Court, and offer quiet counsel. From the upper levels she can see across most of the Hollow Court, slowly mend cracks in stone and light, sharpen the clarity of those near her, and seal sections of the Spire against corruption. Strong Veil corruption or the higher agents of Zor can force her to retreat into the deeper sealed levels.
